My character is gone and everything with it.

That is how the game works, not a fault. A run ends when your character dies, when you retire after beating the final boss, or when you choose Quit Adventuring from the menu — and whichever it is, the gold, allies, gear and map progress go with them. Only the record of the run survives, on the Stats page. If a character genuinely vanished without any of those, that is a bug and I want to hear about it.

I closed the app during a fight and the enemy is back at full health.

Also intended. The game writes a fight down at the moment it starts, so closing the app puts you back at the beginning of that fight — Cowardice from a losing fight will not be tolerated as a hero.

My health did not regenerate while the app was closed.

Health only recovers while the app is closed if you left combat before you closed it.

I fled a fight and lost my progress in the area.

Fleeing resets the progress made toward clearing an area.

How do I move my save to a new phone?

Nothing, if Cloud Save is on — which it is unless you turned it off under Menu › Settings. Your character is kept in storage belonging to the account your phone already has, Game Center on iPhone or Play Games on Android, and reinstalling the game brings them back on their own. We do not run an account system and we never see the save.

Only a character who is still alive comes back. Your progress lives on the device either way, and because the two accounts are unrelated, a save made on an iPhone cannot be picked up on Android, or the other way round.

How do I start over from scratch?

There is no reset button by design. To put your character down and start a new one, open the menu outside a fight and choose Quit Adventuring.

Are there in-app purchases?

Fuck no. This game is a one-time purchase, full-game unlock. No microtransactions, no ads, none of that crap.

Does the game need an internet connection?

No. The whole game plays offline and nothing about it needs a connection to work. If you want your character recorded to the leaderboards, you will need an active connection, but this is NOT a requirement.

What do you do with my data?

The game collects nothing that says who you are — no name, no email, no account, no advertising identifier. Your character, a one-way fingerprint of your phone and a few play totals go to our server unless you switch it off under Menu › Settings. Your save stays in the app's private storage on your phone and is never sent to us; with Cloud Save on, a copy goes to your own Apple or Google storage and still not to us. The privacy policy has the details.
